Brett Waress is a seasoned healthcare executive with over 25 years of leadership experience across academic, nonprofit, for-profit, and hospital-owned medical groups. He currently serves as Vice President of Strategy & Service Lines, AdventHealth North Carolina. Previously, Brett served as Vice President of Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute, a Top 50 cancer program, and Tampa General Provider Network (TGPN), comprised of over 200 providers statewide. He led multiple institutes at Cleveland Clinic-FL, including Heart & Vascular, Neurosciences, and Digestive Disease—responsible for inpatient/outpatient operations, financial and capital planning, recruitment, and strategy. His career also includes leading hospital-based physician services in a 1,200-bed health system and GME operations at UNC Chapel Hill, where he managed academic practices, training programs, and revenue cycle services. He holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from UNC Chapel Hill and is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives. Brett has published on topics such as healthcare quality costs, community-based medical education, and managed care partnerships, and has taught practice management and finance to medical residents and fellows for over 15 years.
